My sister owns a nail shop and her french bulldog occupies her everyday. An inspector came in and told her that it's illegal and if they catch her again with a dog in the shop, she's going to get a huge fine. We live in Louisiana. So is it true? I find it impossible to believe since that's HER shop and it's not a food restaurant or anything.Is it illegal to have a dog in a nail shop?
It all depends on the local ordinances, just because it is her shop and there is not food still doesn't make it safe because of the exposure to the public. If I were you I would take the advice of the inspector because he probably knows the zoning laws. business owners aren't permitted to do as they please. it is the responsibility of the inspectors to uphold local ordinances. the inspector has nothing to gain by ignoring the laws.
