I want to start my own Nail Shop. Would I have to go to college for that?

I graduated from High School and have always been interested in beauty. I never went to College so I don't know if that is something I must do before opening my own business. I am going to be taking manicurist classes and start from there. But I don't really know how to begin to start a business, I work full time so going to college isn't really an option for me.I want to start my own Nail Shop. Would I have to go to college for that?
You have to take a business course. If you can find one Entrepreneurship course do take it. We have one here actually that is particularly for owning spas, if you can find something like that. Take it! It is very VERY hard work to own your own business, especially a spa. And you absolutely need to take more then just something for manicures, you need to go to school for esthetics. You need to know your stuff! I've been an esthetician for 3 years, but I still don't think I would be ready to own my own. You need to work the feild for a while first! Before you can open your own nail salon, you'd need experience working as a nail technician first. In order to get into nail technician school, all you need is a high school diploma or GED. Since you already have that, you can apply to the right school that suits your needs (you should make sure this program is accredited) and get yourself educated.





After working for some time you can probably get into opening up your own salon. Taking business courses is definitely helpful and a bachelor's degree in some business field would give you an advantage for sure. But many beauty schools give their students a well-rounded education and offer students business classes because they know many of their students are interested in opening their own places.

yep you need to take a course in health and Beauty and also maybe a Business course to help you learn how to organise your finances





if you cant go to college try an open university
you need cosmetology degrees and a buisness degree to run that kind of business





and most likely an accounting degree
