Nail stores are generally owned by Vietnamese, and their english standard is usually a little lower. So it's PERFECTLY normal for them to communicate to each other using their native language, i don't think anything is wrong with it. It doesn't necessarily means they are talking bad behind (or in this case, in front of you :)) But i do think that if possible, it's better to not speak a different language, it's a little rude sometimes, but i think it really depends. If they can speak english but chose to speak something else in front of you, that's rude. But if they can't speak well, then it's ok for them to speak something else which they are fluent in.Irritating, when you get your nail done at an Asian shop, they start speaking in their own language?
No, Im not there to talk to them so I don't really care what language they are speaking in as long as it's not to me!Irritating, when you get your nail done at an Asian shop, they start speaking in their own language?
Of course....as you speak your language...what is wrong with it?
So what it is not like you own their shop. if they did not understand english you would still speak english in front of them.
They are self-obsessed and rude people, in my own experience.
There's nothing wrong with that. It's just like you speaking in your own language.
it's not cool for you, because you can't understand, and so what?
It is somewhat rude on their part, but I wouldn't lose sleep over it. They're probably talking about thier bfs or husbands and what lzy clods they are.
Shame on them. But then shame on me too, since I speak Spanish with anyone and everyone who will speak it with me. My native language is English, so then it should be double-shame on me. All of us who speak other languages are so inconsiderate of you all of you who are handicapped with just one. There really ought to be a law!
Its exactly like when americans go to a France and expect to be addressed in English.
what language are they speaking japanese or chinese
I'm not irritated by it anymore but I still think it is very rude so everytime I'm there with a friend I make a point of talking in a language other than English. Where I come from it is considered common courtesy not to speak a language others present in the room might not understand but different cultures, different customs.
what the heck, u dont even understand so what, you've been watching SEINFELD, don't u lol
heck here if you go to a 7-11 or a park or whatever, you think you are in mazatlan or somwhere. no a word of English to be heard expect when I mutter to myslef
