I got pedicures when I was pregnant with all 4 of my kids. My oldest is 10 and he is fine. I know they say you should stay out of salons but I think people are just over paranoid! If it makes you feel better my neighbor is due in 4 weeks and she was out changing the oil in her cars a couple days ago. No, I don't think it hurt the baby, but try to stay out of acryllic nail shops as much as you can. The dust is really hard on your respiratory system, and there have been links to adverse effects on developing babies - similar to being around a second hand smoker. Good for you for taking breaks during the visit - You probably minimized the amount of fumes you were taking in, and fresh air is always good for both you and baby!
are you kidding me? LOL. I don't want to sound mean, your probably a first time mom. Unless you were huffing the fumes, don't worry your mind about it. I'm 27 weeks pregnant with twins and I've been around fumes from everything under the sun in a salon. Acrylic, gels, color, perms. No damage done. Of course I wasn't huffing it either. Just breath normally and worry about something else.
You should be fine. Especially since you took breaks and got out of there. I had a nail lady that was pregnant, so she sat in one all day, granted they put her by the door. Her baby came out perfect.
