Do you remember hardware shops? when you could buy a screwdriver, nails hoes seeds garden implements and gaso?

and all the other stuff you could once buyDo you remember hardware shops? when you could buy a screwdriver, nails hoes seeds garden implements and gaso?
Oh yes, i do indeed. We had one where you could buy any thing from fire wood to paraffin, screws, hammers, curtain wire, ash trays, ornaments, even bags of cement. It always had that paraffiny type smell, and the owner knew everybody, even down to the grand parents.

Its now a takeaway sadly, and we have to go to B @ Q. Bring back the good old days. xxDo you remember hardware shops? when you could buy a screwdriver, nails hoes seeds garden implements and gaso?
Fork 'Andles too. We had a nice one with a dusty old man in a brown coat, like in Open all Hours. It was all little wooden boxes.
Still got one where I live. You can buy screws, nuts and bolts singly.
yes my mom used to buy paraffin from one years ago,

it used to sell everything
Yes, now we have places like Home Depot and Lowes!! The last mom %26amp; pop shop (small hardware store) just closed after 30 years being in a small town.
You mean stuff like fork handles?
Yes once I asked for Fork handles and the shop keeper gave me Four Candles
Still have one in the town that i live it.Going in there is like going into Aladdin's cave.
Still have one in my town
we still got one of these on our high street too, maybe i live in an old fashioned town

Why are there so many Gambling places, Latte' shops, Payday Loan places and Nail shops but not allot for kids

It's because in the 50's there was a baby boom (the Baby Boomers now) and there was a huge jump in the population. The marketing for this group is in high demand right now as they are keeping the economy afloat. It's sad I know, but these business people are smart in making money and this stuff is like gold right now. In 20-30 more years it'll be the old age stuff that's a boom! (It'll follow the Baby Boomers through there lives) Then when the next wave of population comes it'll focus on them! Why are there so many Gambling places, Latte' shops, Payday Loan places and Nail shops but not allot for kids
hahha.. YOU GOTTA BE KIDDIN! Cuz kids don't rate. You got something to look forward to now.

I need to grow my nails fast for a wedding, how do i speed them up without going to the shops?

get some stick on ones,,,,hell, u'll have nice nails {with designs on them too} in like 5 minutes....I need to grow my nails fast for a wedding, how do i speed them up without going to the shops?
Take the vitamin Biotin. It helps with hair/nail growthI need to grow my nails fast for a wedding, how do i speed them up without going to the shops?
Sally Hansen Miracle Grow and Sally Hansen Hard as Nails...

I chew my nails, and I always use the miracle grow on them after I've chewed them too low... If I don't use it they will hurt for days, but I swear the day after I use it the pain is gone and they are already on their way to being chewed again :)
You can add gelatin to your diet, which will strengthen and enhance nail growth. Usually in the form of Jell-o, it will also encourage healthy hair growth. You might also consider adding foods that help with circulation like garlic (fresh, not powder). Better circulation means better nail growth.

Don't forget hand lotion. Most salons are well aware that any hand lotions will help encourage growth. Use it on the nails and message your cuticles while applying. This again encourages circulation which in turn encourages growth.

good luck!

I get my O.P.I nail varnish from my Boots, but boots prob only sell it in their larger branches. I also know that you can get it from John Lewis, Selfridges and Debenhams. You could also get if off the internet, loads cheaper off ASOS than in-store.Which shops in the UK can i buy O.P.I nail varnish?

Whats the best false nails i can buy in the shops?

i have really short pink bits ( i dunno what theyre called) so i need to have short styleWhats the best false nails i can buy in the shops?
Either Broadway or Cosmopolitan nails are best. Boots and Superdrug stock both brands and do their own range which also caters for ';petite'; nails. They are all usually priced at around 拢5. Hope this helps!Whats the best false nails i can buy in the shops?
Get the Broadway nails. They look really realistic, and they are one of the shorter fake nails. They do go over the edge of your finger, but not as much as most others. At least they do on my fingers. They have them in two colours, pink and a peach, well in the most natural ones anyways. I think they are around $10.00 with tax, so they are quite affordable. Most of them come plain, but you can buy little stickers for your nails to spruce them up a bit. Hope I helped!! Email me for anything else.
don't bother, make the best of what you already have - its much cheaper and will look better. most nails from the shops look a bit rubbish and come off within a week, and although GOOD salon nails may look nice at first you will have to keep going back to have them ';filled in'; which is expensive and the only person who will really benefit is the salon owner.
dont buy them they snap off by the next day. get sally hudson nail growth.. its bout 7pound but promise your nails will grow if u put it on everyday. i used 2 pick and bite my nails but since using this they are at lovely length you will notice after bout 5 days but by the end of the 2 weeks they will look fab. hope this helps x
I wouldn't bother. They usually pop off way too soon and are not worth the money, you can pay $20 somewhere for a decent nail job.
Please do not buy nails from the shop and fit them yourself, they ALWAYS look disgusting. At about 拢5 a box, replacing them weekly, its a waste of time and money. You could have them done at a cheap salon for about 拢25.
Broadway nails. They do a short length too so they should suit you.

Where do u get fake nails at well I'm going to the shop today i need tips now and what kind to get.?

Avon has been selling them for awhile. Not lengthening, just a quick way to get seamless color. They last a week...or more.Where do u get fake nails at well I'm going to the shop today i need tips now and what kind to get.?

My ex used to always get hers at the dollar store. So does this chick I know from the hood

I have fake nails and cant make it to the shop to have them take them off. how do i take them off myself?

soak them and take them off slowly so it won't take your new growth offI have fake nails and cant make it to the shop to have them take them off. how do i take them off myself?
I was told to soak them in finger nail polish remover for awhile and you shouldn't have any problems.I have fake nails and cant make it to the shop to have them take them off. how do i take them off myself?
Nail polish remover that has acetone. Get it from Walgreens. Soak them in it, it's what the nail salons use. Your finger tips will turn white and get dry but keep them soaking for at least fifteen minutes or so - the fake nails will start to soften up and you can wipe them away.
At the nail shops we use a pure acetone. You can buy it at any Beauty supply shop. Pour it into a shallow bowl with marbles or clean smooth stones (no colors...only clear) at the bottom. Place your hand in the bowl and occasionaly move the marbles around. It will take approx. 30 minutes to soak. The majority of the nail will dissolve into a glue like consistency. Use a buffing block to clean the nail bed. Be sure to use some nail optimizer after soaking to protect your natural nail. If that is not available, use some clear polish to tide you over until you can get to the nail shop.
Pull them off slowly or it will hurt
dip them in nail polish remover for some minutes
I had fake nails put on and didn't want to go to have them removed. If you have time to sit in your home they have a polish remover just for that perpose. You will need alot of patients.

    doublehips
acetone acetone acetone everybody knows this.......duh
soak them for about 15 minutes and then slowly bite them. Not through them but pull them up.
Soak them in acetone nail polish remover.
Buy pure acetone. you can buy it in walmart. Its the stuff that professional nail salons use to get rid of nail polish on your toes or finger nails. leave ur fingers in and wait then pull nails off it should slide off more comfortably
    acetone!

My nails r only like 1/2cm some aint that long is it long enuff to have false nails done at a shop??

But you're a guy - why would you want false nails ??????????My nails r only like 1/2cm some aint that long is it long enuff to have false nails done at a shop??
I think that you can have false nails however long or short they are but if there really really long that its not necessary but it should be ok.My nails r only like 1/2cm some aint that long is it long enuff to have false nails done at a shop??
they actually will end up trimming off your own nails before they put on the real naiuls, otherwise it is dangerous for your fingers. Even the most chewed nails can have false nails. They wont put them on over existing long nails as if you accidentally pulled one, you'd do your finger damage. Let the beautician decide. I think you'll be grand
    of course you can

it doesn't matter how short your nails are
You can have false nails on your nails at any length
    go %26amp; ask them
Acrylic nails can be done on most any short existing nails as with sculptured gel types. The concern a nail technician may have is if you have any infections or fungus present. Also a big concern would be if your nail beds are strong and healthy enough to support the faux nails. If those things are satisfactory then you can safely proceed to have long gorgeous nails. Consider the length of time you wish to wear these new nails as to remove them will damage the existing nail beds leaving them weak and vulnerable to injury and infection.

    Good luck sweetie=)
Yes you don't have to have any nails to have false ones done. I have no nails at all and when I go to a salon to have acrylic ones put on I've seen the nail technicians there actually cut the real nail down otherwise it would grow too fast underneath the false ones. P.S. I hate the word ';aint';. It's ';isn't';!. Sorry it's my pet hate.
    of course they are
If you are going to have false nails on, go for sculptured rather than tips - tips have to be glued on and wreck your nails when they come off. Sculptured nails have hardly any effect on your own nails if they are taken off properly.

Any length of nail is fine but you may have to have infils more regularly as they are more likely to lift.
I should save your money and spend it on some English lessons. It will do you far more good and might help you in years to come.
yes of course they are as long as they have the smallest amount of nail to work with its ok hunni

  • Where can u purchase nail equipment that they use in the shops? and how much do they cost?

I work for a board of cosmetology and you can go to a sallys beauty supply store or order them off the internet. Just google ';manicure supplies'; and a huge list will come up. Cost is a hard to determine, I spend about $50.00 in a Sally store to get the pushers, clippers, polish, buffers, scrapers, and so on. You can also order the chairs and other seating things from the pages that google will bring up, or type in ';used manicure supplies and furniture'; and you'll get some good used things too. Good Luck.Where can u purchase nail equipment that they use in the shops? and how much do they cost?
If it is the actual implemenst (cuticle clippers, orangewood sticks, etc)that you need you can go to your local drug store. Revlon has great professional products and the store I am at has Tweezerman implements which is what we always used in our salon. However be advised Tweezeman is about $10 to $15 more expensive. If it is the tables and chairs, most cities have used beauty supply stores and you can get them there for less than say at Sally's.

What is the besy way that it wont hurt to take off your nails that you got done at the shop?

i had got my nails dont you know when the person at the shop glues some fake ones on and now i want to take them off what is the bast ways to do that with out it hurting so muchWhat is the besy way that it wont hurt to take off your nails that you got done at the shop?
Well, unfortunately it is going to hurt either way. You can go back to that shop (or a different one) and have them remove your nails. They soak it in some type of solutions which makes the adhesive less strong.

Or, you can choose to do it yourself which hurts a little bit. I have waited a few weeks for my nails to grow out and then take them off from there....

Good luck! What is the besy way that it wont hurt to take off your nails that you got done at the shop?
honestly, the best way is to go back and have them remove them. If you feel brave, do it your self by soaking your fingers in nail polish containing acetone...it will take a while and you should expect pain. Its will hurt.
Fake nails are made of Acrylic, just soak them in pure acetone or go to sally's beauty supply or even walmart they have fake nail removal liquid.
first soke them in hot water

    then fingernail polish remover

then they come right off not hurt or anything!
Soaking them in hot (not so hot you burn your skin) water will loosen them a bit... but it's gonna hurt no matter what. But that usually helps the pain a little bit.
I have always been able to ';pop'; mine off, if that doesn't work for you , soak them in 100% acetate.
You could go back in and ask them to take them off. Here they charge 5 bucks but it does hurt, no way around it, nail polish remover does not work.
you soak them in aceton nail polish remover and take an orange stick and remove the excess and keep doing that till the acrylic is gone. go to sally's beauty supply they will have everything you need
Buy some pure Acetone at a beauty store, and soak your nails.
They use Acetone to remove the adhesive. You can buy it at walmart and just soak your nails in the acetone and the adhesive will release.
Use acetone. Its a little messy, but it works.

Has anybody from the UK shopped at hollywoodbeaute.com for nail products?

xHas anybody from the UK shopped at hollywoodbeaute.com for nail products?
I haven't, if you're not sure always pay with pay-pal, that way you know that you can get a refund if something turns out to be wrong with the product or if you never receive it.

How long can the U.S. sustain itself with nail salons, burger joints, and coffee shops?

don't forget the all important shoe stores and thrift shops. my own town has suffered some. never thought i'd see it here, but once high dollar real estate downtown now has thrift shops. the powers that be, in their infinite wisdom barred chain places like McDs etc from opening stores in the downtown business core so we don't have burger shops per se, but we have coffee every three steps. i don't know how long we can hold out. i think the city is advertising for roommates. How long can the U.S. sustain itself with nail salons, burger joints, and coffee shops?
Do you have a solution to this supposed problem or are you just blowing hot air?

I think America will do just fine as the world financial center, which we are, and where trends say we are heading. Having a world-leading Financial industry is a much better choice for a prosperous civilization than manufacturing or agriculture, anyway. For one thing, nobody wants to go to war with their number 1 customer, nor would they want to go to war with a guy who has all their money. Secondly, being the world's preeminent financiers means that we are disgustingly rich. That means a society that is focused on science and the arts instead of stamping pieces of metal or sowing wheat seeds. That means self-actualizing jobs in the pursuit of dreams instead of dead-end jobs staring at a conveyor belt until retirement.

Historical Venice is a good example of a civilization that built its power on finance. It built a vast trade empire and was hugely influential in its time despite being a city-state with poor natural resources, all because Venice had an incredibly powerful financial sector. All of Italy became known for it's powerful banks, and this in turn is what fueled the Italian Renaissance, and the reason we have things like modern art and rocket ships and human liberty.

America, unlike Venice, Florence, or Rome, has the added bonus of being a natural resource rich land, so we will always have fall back industries in the event of decline in wealth. The U.S will be around for a long time, as long as we cling to our liberty, and we stick to what we do best; which is make money. How long can the U.S. sustain itself with nail salons, burger joints, and coffee shops?
The NAIL SALONS? They are primarily controlled by those VIETNAMESE and they have been BLACK MARKETING our money for a VERY LONG TIME!

You hear them smiling, laughing how they send that money back.

Well, that is against the law they are not suppose to send OUR CURRENCY OVER THERE and that is what they do. They send our $100 BILLS back to VIETNAM and JACK OUR DOLLAR AND MAKE IT WEAKER.

If it had not been for those ';Charlies'; (South Vietnamese) being a traitor while we were there WE WOULD HAVE WON THAT DAM WAR.

I have heard them say THEY DIDN'T WANT TO COME HERE but since AMERIKA gave them so much THAT IS WHY THEY ARE HERE!

They can GET THE HELL OUT TOO.
    Not much longer...

I want to be able to buy a TV, cell phone, or computer that was made in the US, damn it. I want to be able to buy *something* that was made in America by Americans, but the wealthy elite and the republican party shipped everything overseas.
We need all business to make this country, but if all the manufacturing goes out of the country because they are taxed to death then we will not be able to sustain forever.

Time for people to wake up and realize what will happen.
Not long. A service-based economy doesn't create wealth, but rather shuffles money around. A return to a manufacturing-based economy will return jobs and create wealth. That won't happen so long as ';free trade'; is embraced by our elected officials. (Note that I did not call them ';leaders';)
    It can't.

Real wealth is created by manufacturing, mining, and agriculture

Services just shift wealth around but don't create it.

It is criminal the way heart has been ripped out of our economy.
I don't know. We need our manufacturing base back, that's what builds real lasting capital. Us allowing our economy to go from manufacturing to service based was a big mistake. We need to get rid of the unions and build back our manufacturing . God bless.
The current economy is evident that it cant already...

Record trade deficits are just that.. More money going out than coming in.
As long as you are frequenting nail salons, burger joints and coffee shops.
Great Question. The problem is that we have a population that does not understand economics.
We'd just have to go back to doing that stuff for ourselves.
As long as we want, LOL!

for earning quick cash, there is no quick way, you have to make at least great effort to earn, if you have your own capital then by investing you can start earning but it also depends on your effort and your knowledge...... anyway, on internet also can be earned but there is a lot of froud, first of all you have to recognise the company who are making froud and earning ,,,,, its also true that there is some companies which are earning good money you can say million of dollars but they have invested their time, knowldge, capital,,,,,, anyway i was also lookking quick way for earning but after waisting my 2 years time i got what the internet job........ i am sure that first of all you have to waste lots of your time then you can earn on internet and its also true that once money start coming then if you event want to stop it u cant stop...... because that time the truffic of your site would be widden and u cant stop it until mak any change in your site............. you have to think upon all thos matter just i tried to make you know......... well see you........ good luck........... you can try this site as well.........http://www.wwwzyyx.blogspot.com/

So you can attempt to reinforce an activity by providing yourself with a positive consequence or reward any time you follow through on the desired behavior. Some behaviors have their own natural rewards built in. For example, if you are exercising you may lose weight, become stronger, and feel better about yourself.

In order to decrease the frequency of an unwanted behavior you could try changing the consequence to something unpleasant or undesirable. This can be tricky because many times there are positive consequences covertly embedded in seemingly unpleasant experiences. One such example is that of a student acting out in class. His teacher may verbally reprimand him in front of peers and send him to the Principal's office. However, his behavior may be reinforced by the positive consequence of getting out of class, or having more attention. It is best to do a behavioral analysis in which you list all the possible pleasant vs unpleasant consequences of an unwanted behavior. Then work on either reducing the rewards of the unpleasant behavior, or finding adaptive replacement behaviors to obtain the same rewards.

  • Does anyone think nail salons are also prostitute shops?

everywhere you look theres a nail salon, there are too many of them , there has to be something going on in there other than nails and waxingDoes anyone think nail salons are also prostitute shops?
Serious doubt. Maybe you do not realize the beauty industry is the most booming because many women are insecure and want to get pretty. Many women like to unwind after a stressful day or feel like they're pampered.

Good guess but you're probably wrong...Does anyone think nail salons are also prostitute shops?
    no thats only massage parlors
Haha this is great! but naw i think your wrong. if so more guys would go to them. sorry guess your outa luck lol if you want a prostitute go to a corner @ night especially in the bad part of town or the hidden whore houses. not really hard to find. or at least not where i live. think your just fantasizing.
    yes they are
    hahahah agreed.
    yeah i'm sure....
haha never thought about it.. but umm no i doubt it!! =]
i have got to get my nails done
If that were true they would be full of men instead of women!
hahaha. never occured to me, but yeah, i agree. there are maybe 8 nail salons within walking distance of my house. it's really kind of ridiculous.
Men have bars and women have nail salons
I used to be a nail tech. Trust me of the 3 upstanding salons I worked in 2 of which are national chain salons there is nothing more going on than you go in get a good looking set of nails hopefully, and get buzzed on the acrylic liquid. That would be the stuff that smells bad.
lmfao i think youre getting your fantasies mixed up with reality sweetie.

How do you fake nails look like you just them done at the shop?

how do you fake nails look like you just them done at the shopHow do you fake nails look like you just them done at the shop?
Get a nail buffer with four steps, follow them and add tips with french manicure then gloss over with clear nail polish, works a treat =). Oh and if you do dont bite your nails and drink lots of milk or dairy products, makes them healthy and they break a lot less!!!

Good luck =)How do you fake nails look like you just them done at the shop?
How do you apply fake nails so they look proffesionally done ????

I would just go to a beautician who do nails.

If not buy a decent set of fake nails and read the box or google it.
    Um, like this i guess?:http://www.polyvore.com/yahoo_answers_re鈥?/a>
trim them after you glue on %26amp; smooth out, then polish them.

i got mine from boots, but superdrug has also.
Depends where you are, in Edinburgh I would go to whiplash trash or flip for some.

Try Ebay - you can get everything!
    superdrug,boots. places like that
whey happy to see some one lives in england not america for once!! LOL

you can get it from almost anywere

    boots

    superdrug

    tesco/asda/morrisons/sainsburys

and also you could try claires
I got the Barry M nail varnish in black from my local superdrug the other week for less than 拢4. It's a gorgeous, glossy black colour and lasts about 3 days before I need to re-do it, which is amazing because I work in a convience store constantly opening boxes/plastic wrap on stock.

It's the best black nail varnish I've bought in a while and I highly recommend it!
Try Sally, a professional beauty product supply shop.

    http://www.sallybeauty.com/mapquest_uk/i鈥?/a>

They stock OPI which has a very nice black nail varnish

    http://www.opi.com/Classics/Classics.asp鈥?/a>
go to boots as you can get all different companies. or try a goth shop but the quality may not be that high. least in boots u know the company u r going for is good.
opi is the best nail varnish. It lasts long and doesn't chip.

You can get it from most nail salons on your local high street or from ebay.

They have a few black nail varishes which are both matte and shiny.

They have some weird and wonderful names.

    Black ones are -

    Black Onyx, Black Tie optional
the one in superdrug is really good. it doesn't dry out in the bottle or go sticky
Try The Borough Of Camden. Can't give you exact details to shops, but the area is well known for Gothica,Punks and other sorts of unusual dressed people.
Claires do lots at halloween. You could also try like Pony Express or something.
    Claire's Accessories
Chanel apparently do one which is meant to be boom, but the down side is it is on a waiting list
I seen some on ebay yesterday. So have a look.
i got mine from superdrug. or try boots. or anywhere really loads of places sell it.
    Camden

And i'm pretty sure they do actually sell it in Boots or Superdrug as i have bought good quality black nailvarnish from either one of them before.
I bought some on-line from http://saveonmakeup.co.uk it was reasonably priced too! And fast delivery!

How come most nail shops are non-standard?

I'm a licensed manicurist and I used to work for this non-standard asian nail salon. The owner yelled at me every time I tried to sterilize or replace the beauty implements. He said it's costly if we keep replacing the buffers and nail files. I was disappointed and at the same time I felt bad for the customers. They accepted walk-in clients all the time and treated their employees like crap. We worked every minute of the day, and there's no break time. when I spent more than 30 minutes on a pedicure, they said it should only take 20 minutes. The nail salon was BS, they didn't even have enough equipments to operate. I feel that all the owner cared about was making the profit rather than the quality of the service. I wonder why nail shops like this haven't been shut down yet.How come most nail shops are non-standard?
i would say they are SUB-standard. thanks for the info. good luck to you.

  • What licence do i need to open and run a hair and nails salon shop if i had the money for what i need????

First of all, you need a cosmetology license, so you have to get training and pass a board exam to become licensed. Secondly, you need a business license to operate the salon.

I think there may be a possibility that you would not have to be licensed if you were a silent partner in a salon, but if you are going to manage the day-to-day operations, you must be a licensed cosmetologist.

    Nail shops?

i want to got get my nails and toe nails done. I have heard some horror stories about people getting infections. What can i do and look for in salon to make sure it is up to code and doing what they are souposed to do?Nail shops?
If you ask them if they are up to code, of course they will say YES. If they understand what your are saying.

Ask your friends for referrals and call your State OSHA department to see if there are any complaints against the shop.

You will be MUCH better off staying away from a Korean or Vietnamese shop and going to an American owned shop, such as one at a spa or hair salon.Nail shops?
ask the people when you make an appointment if they are up to code. also ask them to make sure their equipment is soaked in rubbing alcohol.
One thing to make sure of is that all the equipment is sterilized. Make sure nothing they use on you has been used on another person.

Make sure they are careful with what they are doing to prevent them from irritating your skin too much. This can create cuts or tears in the skin that would harbor infection. I would recommend you stay away from salons that use ';drills.'; Not because they aren't sanitary, but because more often than not they aren't used properly. I have yet to have one used on me that hasn't resulted in damage to the skin around my nails. (Just my personal opinion.)

Sometimes you just can't prevent it. I've gotten my fingers infected from incredibly clean salons with very careful people. Its all about if you want to take the risk or not.
Make sure that the person is friendly and personal. Make sure that any tools they use are disinfected using a cleaner (It's that blue stuff in a jar). Ask them nicely to be gentle. If you feel any pain, don't be afraid to say anything! Chances are, they don't even know they're hurting you.

  • What's the difference and what's better having false nails done in the salon or at home from the shop?

In my opinion... shops are better. you go to relax and have your own time. plus some places do amazing jobs. What's the difference and what's better having false nails done in the salon or at home from the shop?
when you go to an salon you get your nails done, they are suppose to let your nails grow . so you have to get them done so often and spend lots off money especially when they fall of . but there are false nails that do the same thing now, if the false nails falls of you just glue it back on unlike the other nails. much cheaper. and if you dont like the length you can shorten it your self. What's the difference and what's better having false nails done in the salon or at home from the shop?
Usually, when u go 2 a nail salon they will put a tip on then put acrylic over the top so they are strong, these nails last longer beacuse the ones you buy from shops with nail glue etc. only last a few days as they're plastic. thing is, the ones in salons can leave ridges in your nails if they aren't taken off properly. so its up 2 u dependin how long u want them 2 last :):)

Why are most nail shops run and staffed by Vietnamese (in the U.S.)?

I have no complaints about that fact, I just find it interesting that this is the case 99% of the time. Why are most nail shops run and staffed by Vietnamese (in the U.S.)?
Many are also run by Koreans. These people generally have a very tight knit community where they help each other out. If someone finds a business they want to by (or start up) many friends and relatives will loan them money to do it. There are also many of their own banks that will loan them money at a very low interest rate, but they are then obligated to only use that bank. They also will then get together and buy supplies and merchandise in bulk to get better prices. Why are most nail shops run and staffed by Vietnamese (in the U.S.)?
it is because vietnamese people are very good artists
    never thought about that before.

maybe it's because vietnamese people dream of running their own nail salons. it's in the blood.
because they are more patient, don't talk to you much, and get the job done
    Cause their the best, baby.
it's easy and they're good at it. besides cooking delicious food it's one of the other things they are obsessed with.... LOOKING GOOD!

actually if you think that vietnamese don't talk much, you don't know anything. they talk like freakin maniacs. and they are not afraid to tell you what they are thinking or what they think. they are brutally honest in their language. and hostile in english. if you know what i mean....
maybe its the same reason why Africans are so good at braiding hair...

Have a nail in the tire... do i have to get a new one or can i just go get a plug on it at a tire shop?

    NEW tire, ALWAYS

if you have a plug, just use it to get home, never go out riding that wayHave a nail in the tire... do i have to get a new one or can i just go get a plug on it at a tire shop?
Any TUBELESS tire can be plugged. A tire that has a tube has to be broken down and a patch made to the tube. I would suggest patching the tire and installing a NEW tube if the tire is in good condition and has a couple thousand miles left. If it is really worn I suggest buying a new one. I personally will not ride a plugged tire on a bike and would only use a ';patched'; tube if I couldn't get a new one where I was stopped.

Just like new things. Neither my wife or I will run a plugged tire on the front (steering) wheels of a car or truck. They claim they are safe but I have seen steel belted tires cut a plug to ribbons!Have a nail in the tire... do i have to get a new one or can i just go get a plug on it at a tire shop?
you can plug it as a temporary fix until you can get a new tire to replace it ,It's not recommended to leave it on for a long period of time repairing a motorcycle tire should always be considered as a temporary fix, you've only got 2 tires so it's best to always have good tires on your bike without plugs or patches in them
You can just plug it. *note* all plugs are considered to be a temporary fix. You can have it patched from the inside also, but is still considered a temporary fix. A plug will probably hold just fine for years but is not recommended by the manufacturer of any tire.
I have plugged a motorcycle tire before BUT.........

Think about what will happen if the plug does not hold. Do you want to take that risk further than your trip home? An inside plug is the best, but still only a temporary fix. If you really want to save the tire that bad, put a tube in it, and go back to normal when you change the tire.
On a motorcycle, you can plug it as a temporary fix, but keep it at low speeds and ride to a place to get it replaced asap. It is unsafe to ride it with a plugged tire, they sometimes blow out explosively at speed.

    ride safe
Rare, but I gotta go with Mags on this one. You can plug it as long as its not in the sidewall, but I would not continue to ride on a plugged tire. A blowout when riding a m/c is much different than a blowout driving a car.

    Go get the new tire.
You only plug a motorcycle tire as a temoporary fix to get you someplace where you can buy a new tire. Not recommended for extended use.
I've put thousands of miles on a plugged rear tire. The hole has to be in the tread and you have to use special plug that is pulled from the inside and incorporates a tire patch.
I have run plugs on car tires in the past but No way would I feel safe riding a street bike on a plugged tire, that little strip of rubber is all that is between You and a very hard abrasive surface.
You can only plug a tire if the puncture is in the tread. Any puncture of the side wall is unrepairable.
Have it repaired with a plug/patch.

If you run tubes, put a new tube in. Tube patches don't always hold.

    Here's what Dunlop says: http://www.dunlopmotorcycle.com/infocent鈥?/a>
as long as it is not in the sidewall then it can be plugged.

  • What kind of nails should i use on a wooden wall? (i shop at walmart)?

I'm tryin to assemble a ';Krabb'; mirror I bought from Ikea and it's the nails i have just aren't staying firmly in my walls. What kind of nails should i use on a wooden wall? (i shop at walmart)?
if you have drywall, then you might need screws or anchors,

the anchors go in a larger whole made in the wall then the screw goes in to that piece to enlarge the inside thus making it tight into the wall

there are several different styles of wall anchors, just check them out at walmart, or you can find some screws that have very course thread they might workWhat kind of nails should i use on a wooden wall? (i shop at walmart)?
Headless nails. If you don't know what they look like ask someone @ Walmart and they'll probably be able to help you.
Sounds like your nails are either to short or not on an angle.

try using a ';Ring shank'; nail they can be bought at any lumber store or home improvement store I am not sure if they are sold at Wal-mart or not. They need to be long enough to go at least an inch into the wall and try to put them on an angle such as the point going toward the the floor at a 22 or more degree angle this help in the holding of the mirror. Also Mirror are heavy and require a fair abount of nails.

What is the best way to remove acrylic nails without having to go back to the shop?

Cut the nails short then soak them in nail polish remover until the acrylic dissolves. It doesn't take all that long. Don't try to pry them off. You'll damage the natural nail. What is the best way to remove acrylic nails without having to go back to the shop?
Acetone nail varnish removerWhat is the best way to remove acrylic nails without having to go back to the shop?
use a nail varnish remover with acetone in it, or just use acetone you can get it from the local chemist and its fairly cheap. put the bowl of acetone/nail varnish remover in another bowl with hot water in it so you have a bowl in a bowl and soak for 10 mins start to peel them away slowly and file then away with a file.

moisture after and apply a coat of nail varnish, acrylic nails bugger your natural ones and leave them flimsy for a while
Buy artificial nail remover it come in a bottle or a small tub that you dip your fingers into leave for a while and they just pull off. Easy.
i wouldnt take the chance of ruining your nails for the sake of a few quid - go back to the shop and have it done properly - you know it makes sense !!
soak your nails in accetone nail polish remover
It will hurt if you just rip them off so you should wait for them to fall off or wait until they get a little loose and then take them off
soak them in acetone but don't be tempted to pull them, wait till they melt/disolve then use loads of nail oil and hand cream
soak soak soak soak soak For about an hour in Nail POlish remover without acitone. They'll slowly dissapeart, and then you might have to peel em off a little, but it won't hurt. If they dont want to come off, then soak them some more. :) Do it while watchin a movie, and never pull them off from the top, but from the side if possible! Also, If they don't want to come off and you've been soaking, then soak them again for a little bit, and they'll come off eventually. Good luck Hope this helps!
soak your nails in acetone, and carefully wipe with kitchen towel. It will take about 45 minutes
warm soapy water - ie do the washing up!! hehe if not get brutal an use cellulose thinners - it will take seconds - get it from BQ etc in small cans be careful its harsh wash your mits an moisturise
    soak them in accetone
soak them in acetone. or there is an acrylic remover that you can get at walmart. all you have to do is soak your nails in it... it will melt the nails and you didnt spend that much too!
Buy some acetone remover and a good strong nail file, soak acrylic nails in the acetone for 5 mins, the acetone slowly melts the acrylic, lightly buff the nails in between soaking them in acetone, acrylic nails should come off.
My sisters fell off in the bath, she had pure essential lavender in the bath and she was really p****d off.
yes, soak it in nail vanish remover first, then use an old nail tip (surely one will fell out easy at least!) to slide under the gap..where fake nail meet real nail hehe! it will come out much much easier!
soak them in an acetone nail varnish remover
I know, I know. I just let mine grow out and start cutting them way down when they get to a certain point. When there isn't much left you can soak them in nail polish remover to rid the remains.
Pure acetone from a beauty shop, pour in bowl, soak finger tips in it till they dissolve. Its totally toxic. If you want natural nails that are stronger and cheaper to get than fakes I HIGHLY recommend a company called, and, no I dont work for them, Nailtiques, nail protein: I used formula 1+2, followed directions and WOW. Here's the info, 12415 SW 136th Avenue Miami, FL 33186, USA

(800)272-0054 or (305)378-0740. Good Luck and I hope you never have to go to a salon for beautiful nails again. Love, Ellen
soak in pure acetone, this is what my manicurist does
Well, you can do it by soaking your nails in acetone, which is why when you go to get your nails done, they can only use non-acetone on acrylics. However, it is not recommended to take your own nails off. You need to be careful, and it is good to have them looked at, just in case you developed any nail diseases, like paronychia. Plus, the length of time it takes to remove the nails in the acetone is a long process, and you could really dry out your skin or damage things further. Obviously, popping your nails off is just as bad. Again, it is better to suck it up and go back to the nail salon. If you went to a higher priced place (such as a hair salon that offers nails, or a spa), and you can't afford to go back, just go to a small shop... but be wary a lot of times those places aren't as sanitary (not all, just some) and don't use as good of products.
Just soak in Acetone nailpoilsh remover and wait till they slowly dissolve away. You might have to also take them off with something that won't scratch your nail... and good luck because it does take a while to come off...
Semtex! I warn you though, it's not exactly painless.
when u get them off, dont replace them...urgh disgusting
you can buy acrylic nail remover in superdrug i think
There is a product which comes in a small plastic tub, has acitone in it and a sponge, you just have to soak your nails in it and the scrubbing action of the sponge will remove them. Only problem may be that when you remove the acrylics your nail bed will be very sensitive so you should have handy some clear polish to put over the nails while you grow them out, put on lots of coats. In a worse case scenerio you may even have to put super glue on your own nails to mend cracks which may have developed until the nail grows out. The kit is available at most Target stores.

Do ya tip hairdresser/nail tech. if they own the shop?

No. I tip them because they do exactly what I ask. Do ya tip hairdresser/nail tech. if they own the shop?
As far as proper etiquette goes, you don't tip the owner of a salon, a restaurant, etc...

';TIPS'; - stands for ';To Insure Prompt Service'; and it's offered to employees/staff by a customer to get special treatment. Not sure when it became something that was expected but I guess that's how times change.Do ya tip hairdresser/nail tech. if they own the shop?
A tip is a response to the quality of service you feel that you received. If you feel someone did a good job, regardless of who they are, you should tip them.

It's sad I know, but these business people are smart in making cash and this stuff is like gold right now. In 20-30 more years it'll be the old age stuff that's a boom. (It'll follow the Baby Boomers through there lives) Then when the next wave of population comes it'll focus on them.

If you want some more information, I would check out...

Adults are the ones with the money so they are the ones places take care of.

Are there any nail shops in nor-cal that do ';angel love'; nails?

    What are angel love nails?

Why do most asains own nails, hiar shop and restaurant?

ok im and asian myself, and my sister owns a nail shop, its just a curiosity question that came to mind.

maybe i see alot of this in houston, dallas, cali, canada, boston.

i dont know, just asking. so please dont yell at me. :]Why do most asains own nails, hiar shop and restaurant?
I have often wondered that as well....

http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;鈥?/a>Why do most asains own nails, hiar shop and restaurant?
Cali? Only people that pretend to be a California native would say that. And this is a extremely retarded question. My girlfriend is Japanese and German so I'm kinda offended. Vaffanculo!!!!!!! MOST Asians are extremely smart so they have good jobs.
    whats wrong with that?

would you rather not have nail shops, hair shops, or restaurants? they make a living like every else.

im not asian, but i find this slightly offending towards them..
I noticed that except for the hair shop.
    from sd only nail shops...
cause asians are so frikin kool and skilled!
    ive noticed that too lol

Why are there so many Gambling places, Latte' shops, Payday Loan places and Nail shops but not allot for kids?

kids don't have a lot of money, so they can't support businesses for kids. Some parents will spend a lot of money on their kids, but a lot will not, because they don't have a lot of money... because they have kids

I'm doing a little shopping trip. What makeup/nail things should I buy?

I'm going to go on a small shopping spree. What makeup should I get for an everyday look-and what goes for an evening look? Also any ideas for my nails? I can't do french tips because my nails are too brittle (for some reason) to grow out that long-should I go with fake nails?I'm doing a little shopping trip. What makeup/nail things should I buy?
i suggest to go with matte colors for nail polish because it is really in right now. You can check out the espana collection from O.P.I. Um I don't think fake nails are really necessary, but if you want, sure. Maybe you can buy like a strengthening polish. Like lots of brands have them (I'm pretty sure... ex: Nailene Titanium Strength.)

For makeup, it depends what budget you're working with. MAC glosses are really pretty. I would go for their tinted lipglass in Underage. It gives you a really pretty nude lip, for every-day. For night, you can go for like a deeper berry looking kind of gloss. Neutral eyeshadow, like diff. browns are nice.

Hope this helped!I'm doing a little shopping trip. What makeup/nail things should I buy?
I have heared that matte nail colors are in. That means no shimmery sparkly nails. I personally love shimmery nails! lol
navy blue or blue violet nail polish
I would buy neon colored nail polish :)

You can't really influence how fast your nails grow. As far as strength is concerned you can use any nail polish or a nail hardener.

The most important thing is your nutrition.

I use Rimmel London, Nail Rescue. It works for me.

How do I make or what should I use for small parts bins in my garage shop nuts, bolts, screws, nails, etc.?

Would really like to know an easy way to ';make'; some small parts holders. How do I make or what should I use for small parts bins in my garage shop nuts, bolts, screws, nails, etc.?
Someone you know or knows someone with a baby, and tons of old jars. Just screw the lids to a piece of wood ,and then fasten the wood to the bottom of a shelf. You now can fill the jars with whatever and when youre done with it just screw the jar on the lid. You can see everything and its out of the way.How do I make or what should I use for small parts bins in my garage shop nuts, bolts, screws, nails, etc.?
How about empty baby food jars?
Food jars...baby food jars....are good for this ...you use a shelf and screw the lid to the bottom of the shelf and then fill the jar with whatever you want then you simply screw the jar to the lid....

or if you have alot of them you can use coffee containers, good luck or go to wal-mart or k-mart and buy the things with the bins or check at the local craft store.....for things good luck!!!
jars with lids, you can attatch the lits to the underside of a shelf so that when you are not using them you can just screw the jar into the lid and it will be hanging there, use see through so you can see what is in them.
With 28yrs in the construction trades, I have tried just about everything you can think of for storage of the small parts your talking about. I have used everything from cigar boxes to plastic butter tubs. the main thing is to keep your parts dry. if it is parts you don't often use, store in something with tight lids. anything that can rust, spray a quick shot of WD-40 in the container then place lid on tightly. the WD keeps the items from rusting. this works well on most everything made of metal. now getting back to the storage part, find what ever works for you the best, open type bins collect dust and dirt and get ugly after a short time. You might want to stay with something with lids. Check out the many new storage systems available on line such as wood working supply, Sears tools. or other tool or industrial type companies.
ME has the whole idea-- however you may need larger jars than baby food jars-- same principle but larger jars--

There are plastic peanut butter jars in the pint size-- Account for the combined weight of all the jars with contents--

I've dropped a glass baby food jar with contents on concrete-- I was not happy.

    good luck
BABY FOOD JARS SUCK THEY DONT HOLD VERY MUCH. I BOUGHT ABUNCH OF STACKABLE BINS FROM MENARDS. THEY WORK GREAT AND HOLD LARGE QUANITYS OF NUTS AND BOLTS. ANOTHER DOWNFALL OF BABY FOOD JARS IS THEY BREAK.AND WHOS GOING TO EAT THAT CRAP????
I've read some of the comments here and I would be afraid to use glass! How about empty plastics containers? Some medicene containers are nice, bigger ones of course.
my dad always used baby food jars.

Or you could go to a discount store and buy a little box that has little drawers - usually for around $10.
WHAT I DID WAS TO TAKE AN OLD BOARD AND SCREW THE TOPS FROM CLEANED JARS TO IT. THEN PUT THE BOARD UP WITH BRACKETS TO WALL. THIS WAY YOU CAN SEE WHAT YOU HAVE AND IT'S CHEAP.
Well, I usually use empty baby food jars, but milk jugs with the top cut off are good too.
get 2 large hooks that can hold the weight of everything and extend 6-8 inches from the wall/ceiling (or get wood to make a brecket to extend them)

get a 2x2 or 4x4 piece of wood - drill a pilot hold and insert a long nail/screw into the center of each end and leave it extended 2-3 inches

get a few dozen glass baby food jars in assorted sizes (if you dont have little ones ask a friend who does they will go thru hundreds of them) - soak the glass jars only (not lids) in water for 2 hours to remove the labels

remove the lids from the jars - attach the lids to the piece of wood (so the top of the jar is against the wood) to do so use a nail/hammer poke a small hole in the center of the lid - slip a wash onto a screw (to make the head wider) put some glue (for extra security) onto the top of the lid then screw it onto the wood randomly so you do not hit other screws inside the wood

leave 2-3 inches between lids for fingers!!! this is very important!!!

hang the bar from the hooks using the nails (this way it is round %26amp; will spin)

put all your little washers screws bolts in the baby jars then attach the baby jars to the lids already attached to the bar!!

the bar will spin like a paper towel rack and you can see everything you have - the length of the wood you need and the number %26amp; sizes of jars depends on how much stuff you have

my friend build of of these for his moms garage he has several long dowls with everything from screws %26amp; nuts to car fuses %26amp; rubber bands they love it!!

it gets everything organized and off the counter - you can even use a sharpie to write the size of the bolts/nuts on the bottom of the bottle - but remember always make sure the bottle of on the bottom side before you unscrew it to avoid spillage!!!
I'd buy one of those little sets of tiny drawers you can find at Wal Mart.
I went to the ';bead'; store (or craft) and have a lucite box with a variety of sections (17) - it's absolutely perfect - as you can see without opening it. Another model has adjustable compartments. Also good for vitamins or sewing accessories.
Food jars...baby food jars....are good for this ...you use a shelf and screw the lid to the bottom of the shelf and then fill the jar with whatever you want then you simply screw the jar to the lid....

If i bought a tire at a shop, are nails that go into that tire usually covered by warranty?

so theyll repair it for free?If i bought a tire at a shop, are nails that go into that tire usually covered by warranty?
i don,t think so. they usually cover stuff like defects in the tires like bulges and tread separations or if the belt breaks. stuff like that but for nails running in the tires they don,t cover that stuff. If i bought a tire at a shop, are nails that go into that tire usually covered by warranty?
Not usually, some tire shops sell a tire road hazard insurance with their tires, you have to pay extra for this.

Its really not the tire makers fault that you picked up a nail, the regular warranty covers manufacturers defects only.

However, a nail puncture is easy to fix, the last time this happened to me the tire shop fixed it for free even though I never bought anything from them.
warranty just covers manufacture defects not accidents

How do you take out fake nails without goig to the shop? is there any way to take it out at home?

my gf dont want to waste money on taking out fake nails by going to the shop. Is there anyway she can take it off using home suplies? How do you take out fake nails without goig to the shop? is there any way to take it out at home?
Use acetone nail polish remover and pour it into a bowl enough and deep enough to cover your full nails when you place them into the bowl... It will take about 20 to 25 minutes to soak off the fake nails and you may have to use a dull knife to scrap the nails occasionally... and this is for one hand... then you have to repeat this for the other hand with a new bowl of acetone as the first bowl will be full of the material from your fake nails... It takes time, but you can work them off... I have done this a couple of time in the past years... Good Luck!

PS... be sure to dispose of the yuckie bowl of acetone by dumping it into the potty and fluching it away... otherwise it may clog up the sink drains...How do you take out fake nails without goig to the shop? is there any way to take it out at home?
Use a nail filer. Make the nail short then use the tool you use to get dirt out from under your nail. pick around it and gently lift it up. SOAK BEFORE ANY OF THIS%26gt; NAIL POLISH REMOVER. HOT WATER. ACETONE.
If she has acrylic nails, buy some nail polish remover with acetone. (They sell non-acetone formulas that don't damage fake nails.) If she soaks her nails in the remover for a while (10 minutes), she should be able to peel them off.
Trim the fake nails back as much as she can, soak them in pure acetone or tip remover available at wal-mart and use a sanding block to smooth out the rough tops, top with a strengthening top coat and you're done.
Tell her to soak her nails in nail polish remover. This will soften the fake nail and will make it easier to remove.
Yes by soaking them in nail polish remover and slowing remove them w/tweezers or finger nail cutter just to raise the fake nail....
soak your fingertips in nail polish remover and then gently pry them off. your nails will be a little weaked after, so be gentle.
There is nail polish remover specifically for artificial nails. You can find it at Sally Beauty Supply stores or Walmart!
Soak nails in acetone nail polish.

What kind of brushes are used for nail art where i mean which shop in kolkata can i get it?

plz help meWhat kind of brushes are used for nail art where i mean which shop in kolkata can i get it?
You can't get these in kolkata, that is india right? You need to get a very tiny brush, like the kinds they use in rajasthani style paintings. get one of these. this is perfect for nail art. Find an art store that sells art supplies. ask an art student where to get these. you also need a special paint too tho!

not trueIs it true that Yoko Ono (John Lennon's wife) had a pro Nails shop?
Completely untrue. Yoko Ono was famous in the art world before she met John Lennon. She did not do nails ever! What you are meaning with this question is somewhat racist--if not completely racist. Yoko Ono actually made John Lennon's fortune much bigger for him when he was alive because she took over the ';family business.'; So, no she wouldn't have to be a nail technician--not that there is anything wrong with it, but again, your question borders on racism.

How can a teen that loves to shop and get her nails and hair done ever save any money?

She is a senior in highschool and she is a shopaholic and she needs to be saving for all of the things that have to be done like senior pictures, graduation annoucements, cap and gown, prom, etc. What do you recommend she do?How can a teen that loves to shop and get her nails and hair done ever save any money?
Get a job? XxHow can a teen that loves to shop and get her nails and hair done ever save any money?
My best technique for saving money has always been to set aside a certain amount of money that I know I will spend and put the rest in the bank. Once it goes into the bank, I never like to touch it except for big important expenses. I try to forget it is there.

A good way to save on hair styling and manicures is to exchange those services with a friend.

Shopping is a great way to spend time, it's only buying that costs bunches (after the transportation). Some places on the internet buy shopping recommendations i.e. MyItThings.com so she could pass on her knowledge there.

To save on graduation announcements, read the article in the links section titled : Graduation Announcements for Free.

Some people cannot learn to save money. My brother is one such person. My ex was another such person. Hope that she changes on her own, because I've seen my parents try everything to teach my brother to save his money and nothing has worked. Your daughter is probably destined to live beyond her means, paying the minimum payment on her credit card every month. Its not as bad as it sounds. At least she'll have nice stuff to enjoy.
Well, I would suggest buying less and by thw way, you can totally paint your nails yourself and give yourself a hair trim once in a while to save money. Thats what I always do.....but my mom pays for my hair cuts....an I'm guessing she'll be buying my prom, grad, and senior pic stuff. Why do your parents make you buy all the boring stuff?
I bet you're referring to yourself. I advise anyways, if it isn't you, to get a good paying job and put that money in the bank. To make sure she doesn't take all her money out, have her parents put their name on it and they have to be WITH her when taking any amount of money out.
Ok the girl can paint her own nails, lts not that hard to do. Also if she wants to get her hair done. Have her mom or her friends who knows how to do hair, work on her hair.

She can save a whole bunch of money, by not being lazy
Well, does she have a credit card.

If so then her parents need to Decline her card(s). And her parents might need to make a bank account for her(but she cant know the password)so she won't take out money . Also give her an Intervention(i heard that always helps)
get a job and a bank account so she can actually put her money in her bank account so she cant spend the money

make sure she doesnt know her password to her bank account (her parents can)

or else if she knows, she'll be spending that money in the bank account!!

    good luck :)
Don't get a full manicure every week, try getting one every other week and a polish change every week. Limit yourself to only buying stuff that's on clearance. Find a cheaper hair salon

    Answer mine:

    http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;鈥?/a>
by shopping less and doing her own hair or nails, or let her friends do it for her and perhaps get a job she would like to do on a part time basis when she is not at school or doing other extracurricular or extramarital activities
job? do chores. asks ur mother or father if there is anything you can do like clean their car. or ask ur neighbors if they been their lawn mowed.
She should get coupons and gift cards for all the things she likes! Find tons of coupons here: http://brandnamecoupon.com and get discount gift cards here: http://discounted-gift-cards.com
Put your money in a bank account so you can't spend it and stop getting your nails and hair done. Do them yourself!
She would need to stop getting hair and nails done as often or go somewhere cheaper or work more.
I recommend she stops being irresponsible with her money.

Anything will match black, and with simple silver jewelry, you could go with any shade of nail polish!

If you want to keep the simple going, try a French manicure or a soft pink. If you can find silver nail polish, that would look great too.

Or maybe since the rest of the outfit is simply colored, you want to add some brightness? If so, try a bright pink or a bold red.
Fiery red and Navy Blue are hawt with black dresses. You could also try any color pastel. I would recommend pastels or chrome. You can get Love My Nails Chrome at wal-mart.

Love the dress! Im sending the pic to Seventeens editor, Ann, right now!
Get black undercoat and then an airbrush. If you want to do it yourself, go clear coat. You don't want to overload on silver. I would spenda little extra for an airbrush though because it's sooo pretty!

Body Shop nail file & buffer?

I recently bought these two things from The Body Shop (www.thebodyshop.com)

    Big Nail Shiner (http://www.thebodyshop.com/bodyshop/brow鈥?/a>

    Big Nail Filer (http://www.thebodyshop.com/bodyshop/brow鈥?/a>

Could anyone please tell me how to use these things (I know how to use the nail file, obviously, but how do you use the nail buffer, and how often do you use it, and what does it do?)

All answers will be helpful, thanks in advance!Body Shop nail file %26amp; buffer?
';Buffers won't damage your nails if you buff properly.

It's a less-is-more type of activity: Be gentle and don't do it more than once a week.

In the old days you needed to use a cream then buff with a chamois.

Today there are three- or four-sided buffers that will smooth ridges and add gloss when used in a step-by-step manner. Or the large black buffers you can pick up at beauty-supply stores are effective too.

If you give yourself a weekly manicure, definitely gently buff nails before applying polish.

    Anything rough or uneven on the nail will make it more likely that your polish will peel.';

Why do we mostly have Asian people working in nail shops?

Not racist! just curious! Why do we mostly have Asian people working in nail shops?
people typically have a job at what they're good at...maybe because asian people are so tiny, their hands are tinier leaving less room for error and more precision

http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;鈥?/a>Why do we mostly have Asian people working in nail shops?
I've been wondering the same thing, too. I have to specifically wait until a Wednesday to get my eyebrows waxed since that's the only day an English speaking woman comes in. The Asian girl that did mine last time made them crooked. Why would I pay for crooked brows? And why do you get to keep your job for ruining everyone's face?
    hahahahha

I have no idea, just went to one yesterday and I was wondering :)

please answer mine as well, I need help.http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AqMjWjhZblP1dK.VsTPOuoLsy6IX;_ylv=3?qid=20090622193223AAq5lkv

Is the nail shop open on Sundays?

    It is a Nail Shop called ';Designer Nails'; in La Marque, Texas. The phone number is ';409-935-5698';

I tried calling, but they did not answer. This could mean that it's closed, but I'm not for sure because how could they answer the phone if they are in the middle of doing a manicure?

Could you try and call or do you know if they are open on Sundays? If so, what are their hours?

PLEASE HELP!!!!Is the nail shop open on Sundays?
    Seriously??? Is this for real?

  • If an unlicensed personnel gets caught working in a nail shop would he/she be fined?

would it affect the person's future job opportunity as well?If an unlicensed personnel gets caught working in a nail shop would he/she be fined?
The shop would certainly be cited and fined and their business license would come under review due to their willingness to hire an unlicensed nail tech. The individual would most likely be cited as well though I'm not sure if a fine would be assessed. Hairstylists, cosmetologists (make up application), estheticians (facials and such), massage therapists, and also nail technicians....all require licensing by the state they work in and sometimes by the local jurisdiction as well. So how they would be cited and/or fined for working without a license would depend on the state and local regulations. If an unlicensed personnel gets caught working in a nail shop would he/she be fined?
Wow, honestly, I never knew they had to even have a license. If they need one and get caught working without it, a fine would definately be in the future.
if he or she is unlicensed, he or she got caught, the person will say i m learning to be one, since the person is not fully a manicurists
Misdemeanor. Probably a fine or probation, unless they've injured somebody...it's not like practicing medicine without a license.
I'd say the shop would be fined, and her/his employability would suffer, but not necessarily a fine for the individual.

Why is there so many nail shops and liquor lotto check cashing stores in Detroit?

Racist looking for support from the like-minded.

There is a better question to ask of yourself. What can you do to help somebody (anybody) without the advantages you enjoyed or wasted make a positive difference in their life so that this brutal cycle self-inflicting misery can be broken by at least one person.

No, it is easier for you to throw stones. You probably feel better about yourself as a result. Why is there so many nail shops and liquor lotto check cashing stores in Detroit?
Because that is what the majority of lower income people spend their money on and continue to do so for some reason. Look at the demographics and your answer is easy. I don't get the check cashing thing. Why don't you just go to a bank? Who doesn't have a bank account? Maybe if they reduced the liquor stores and put up more supermarkets that create more jobs and food supply, this question would not be asked. The lotto generates so much money that you can pretty much get that anywhere now and a lot of people are looking for that ';get rich quick'; instead of saving their money and earning it the hard way. They need a Moratorium on liquor stores and fast food and put in some more real businesses. Why is there so many nail shops and liquor lotto check cashing stores in Detroit?
Thats seems like such a silly question.

Why are there stuffed animal stores in Disneyland?

Why are there Drug Bars in Amsterdam?

Why are there so many porn stores in LA?

Why are there so many art galleries in Paris?

    I hope this helps.
Because maybe that's what the population in that area spend their money on. It has to do with supply and demand! Hope that helps
People win the lotto, cash their check, buy some liquor, then get their nails done.. DUH!
becuse alot of people like the shops and they make alot of money off of them

In the nail shops do they really talk junk about their clients?

My friend an I think that when we are getting are nails done and they ladies are always speaking a different language that they are talking about their clients. True?In the nail shops do they really talk junk about their clients?
Well a Vietnamese friend and I went to get pedicures and she has confirmed that they do talk about their clients majority of the time. When we went she translated some of the awful things they say. For instance, a lady next to us was getting a pedicure as well and they were laughing about how her little toe looked. That's what made me stop going to those places and dealing with English only shops. In the nail shops do they really talk junk about their clients?
Yes. Expecially if they are vietnemise women....
I am sure they do.. but.who cares? If you do not understand what they are saying....it cannot hurt you, right? Plus, I do not think it would be a good business practice to insult their patrons or even have their patrons ';think'; they are insulting them. But if they are looking at you and blatantly smirking or giggling.... it is time for a different salon.
ive always wondered that! and i finally came to the answer when one of my friends told me her sister spoke the womens language (which happened to be chinese). she said the women were calling her fat and talked about some womens gross toes....they probably have nothing better to do...
yes it is sometimes, my ex has a nail shop
    I saying that I like to live by is ';Anyone who gossips to you will gossip about you.';
    yup
yeah probably as its so boring they have nothing better to do, and women together in salons means bitching!
    yes! sometimes
